Quiltville's Quips & Snips!!: Lost Quilts Found and Home Life in General!

You may want to include a list in your will on how the quilts are to distributed. If your family has enough quilts, maybe you could donate your quilts to an organization to be auctioned off for a good cause. Page yesterday, and many of the quilts have been stolen – even from locked cars.

I have been quilting my name with the machine. It blends with the quilting, but I know it is there. A pattern-maker at our guild show had a good solution after one of her samples "disappeared" from her booth at a sewing show/seminar. She put a couple of extra, short hanging sleeves on her larger quilts, ran a wire cable through the sleeve, and used a padlock to secure the quilts to her wire display stands.

Did you know that ad space on this blog provides for all of the free patterns and free mysteries and challenges at no cost to you? Without ads, this blog would not be possible. Gratitude was the subject at our WW check in today. I appreciate that my daughter's horse Pete gives me some snuggles when I go out in the morning to feed them all and give them water.

Hopefully the quilt will find its way back to the owner soonish. Now, Growe is trying to help another tornado victim who lost a quilt, a quilt that looks to have significant meaning for an entire family. Another quilt was also in the box.

Next Quilting Pattern:

Bernice felt that this quilt needed to go home and that she wanted my help in finding out what happened that it ended up in a second hand store. I made a color copy of the label. Silly me, I didn't take a picture of the quilt. It was a square lap size quilt approximately 50" x 50".

Here are a couple of places you can check on for lost quilts as well. It’s so nice to see others that help get the quilts back to their owners. Logan's tesselated fish is about 36" X 42-46". I didn't have quite enough of the yellow background sea-life fabric for the first border, and there are small areas of yellow-gold fabric to fill the gap. Logan's name is embroidered or written on one of them.

Quilts are really admired by everyone and when there is an opportunity to take one- it usually happens. I’m thinking for the most part it might be out of love. The person who is doing the taking simply L O V E S the quilt enough to risk everything for ownership. I think it said she was teaching in room 200B but not sure of the B.

Both the image height and the image width must be between 60 and 3500 pixels. At that time, there was nothing to help quilters who had lost quilts to get the word out. Maria, not being one to sit around and let others do the work, started the website "Lost Quilts Come Home." Since then, she has re-designed the website. Label the quilt– sounds so simple, but if you took a little bit of extra time to write or print on a piece of fabric and then stitch it on the quilt, that will help. Give info on it that would help it get returned if it was taken.

So here is the story as it was sent to me. There is even a video included with the full story HERE. The pink, white and black print in the border features Elvis singing into a mike and the word ELVIS. Showing duotone photos of Elvis in the cornerstones. The pink fabric has a small regular dot pattern.

We have an "outreach" program which allows us to drop off out quilts, and a volunteer collects and delivers them to the fair, also picking them up after the fair. "Charming Circles" made by Kimberly Einmo, and featured in her book Jelly Roll quilts and More! Thiscame up missing after the Scrap and Sew Open House in Lutz, Florida. I think this may have been mentioned once or twice but not lately - good news and bad tonight - one or two found and several missing....Quilters!!! I always put who its for and that I made it but never thought of the town. Label your quilts with as much identifying information as possible.

I was 4'11" most of my adult life. Now I have shrunk to 4'9". The new grocery carts at Costco have the handle at my shoulder height. I have a Teeter also and I love it. Just wish I had more room to leave up all the time and so I would use it daily.

I think it’s amazing more packages aren’t misdirected. The rights owner of the image continues to own the image; uploading your image to Prime Publishing does not transfer ownership. The time varies depending on the speed of your Internet connection and the size of the image file. For a 400KB image, for example, you should expect 2 to 4 minutes over a 56KB modem and under 1 minute for DSL or cable modem. Images featuring phone numbers, mail addresses, or URLs. You can watermark an image with copyright information.

Use quilt hangers or tubes on the back of the quilt so it can’t just be lifted off the hanger and folded up. Add additional safety pins on the hanger tubes to secure, and not make it easy to slide right off. On the quilt are pictures of dresses and names, all stitched with care.
