The 2018 edition of the Saratoga Showcase of Homes, just concluding its 23rd year, was another spectacular event with 12 award-winning builders presenting 13 homes. This year’s tour had approximately 3800 visitors touring these beautiful new homes on display over three weekends. The builder’s artistry along with the many talented designers who helped showcase their fine work gave our community an opportunity to preview current trends in building, landscaping, decorating and interior design. In what has become an autumn tradition in our area, the Saratoga Builders Association is dedicated to this long running show being an integral part of the fabric in our fall season. Over the past 22 years, this community event has contributed more than $1 million to two local charities. 2018 was the 23rd year of the Saratoga Showcase of Homes, which is hosted by the Saratoga Builders Association, Inc.

From the inspirational women we promote to interesting topics such as health, beauty and fashion to what's going on locally in each community, we strive to keep today's women connected to the things they need and want. This was the first showcase event for both Kodiak Construction and The Form Collaborative. Malta Development is celebrating their 30th anniversary this year, and the showcase home was in their Lakeview Landing subdivision.

In addition, this year featured a “Women in Trades” shed build on the first Saturday of the event, where 9th and 10th grade female student teams from six area high schools built six 4×8-foot lean-to sheds. The schools were Corinth, Greenwich, Northville, Mechanicville, Schuylerville and Stillwater. The sheds were sponsored by CTE/BOCES, Curtis Lumber, DA Collins Companies, Hoosick Valley Contractors, LeChase, Teakwood Builders, United Brotherhood of Carpenters, Whitbeck Construction and Witt Construction.

Since its inception, this major community event has contributed over $1.1 million to local charities. Proceeds from the most recent showcase will benefit Rebuilding Together Saratoga County and Habitat for Humanity of Northern Saratoga, Warren and Washington Counties. Now celebrating its 23rd year, this annual community event has contributed over $1.1 MILLION dollars to our local charities. In what has become an autumn tradition in our area, the Saratoga Builders Association is dedicated to this long running show being an integral part of the fabric in our fall season. Over the past 22 years, this community event has contributed more than $1 million to two local charities. 2018 was the 23rd year of the Saratoga Showcase of Homes, which is hosted by the Saratoga Builders Association, Inc.

About Saratoga Showcase of Homes

In addition, this year featured a “Women in Trades” shed build on the first Saturday of the event, where 9th and 10th grade female student teams from six area high schools built six 4×8-foot lean-to sheds. The schools were Corinth, Greenwich, Northville, Mechanicville, Schuylerville and Stillwater. The sheds were sponsored by CTE/BOCES, Curtis Lumber, DA Collins Companies, Hoosick Valley Contractors, LeChase, Teakwood Builders, United Brotherhood of Carpenters, Whitbeck Construction and Witt Construction.

Participating builders in this year’s event were Belmonte Builders, DSG Construction and Remodeling, Kodiak Construction, Trojanski Builders and Witt Construction. The 2022 Saratoga Showcase of Homes, presented over the weekends of Oct. 8-9 and Oct. 15-16, announced the winner of its annual People’s Choice awards. He Saratoga Builders Association has now contributed nearly $1.2 million dollars to our local charities from this area’s premiere new home tour event.

What a heartbreaker, to visit the lost quilts site and see the missing quilts! I wish Claudia good luck on the return of her quilt. Oh my goodness, who knew there were so many lovingly made quilts gone missing! Some of them are here in California, not very far from me.

It will be flagged for our moderators to take action. It really surprises me that more quilt shows don’t employ magnetic tamper alarms. I have instructed all of them to label, no matter how awesome the quilt is, or how ordinary, so they can have a record of their work. The younger girl is already working on her #2 quilt and planning what she will write on that label. I am so glad I learned that labels are an absolute part of ANY quilt that leaves my hands. I had a quilt stolen from the lobby of a building where was having a show. One of my on-line friends sent me the link to "Lost Quilt" and imagine my surprise to find that Maria is a member of my local guild...and a fabulous quilter/artist also. Hopefully, you won't see my quilt on your website and that people will be able to find theirs. Most of us would not want our quilts ending up in a second hand store.
